How To Install Roboto, Google Font, On Windows
How To Install Roboto, Google Font, On Windows - Roboto is a family of sans-serif typefaces created by Google to use as the default font for its Android 4.0 ICS operating system. This modern and accessible font family includes various weights and strokes so that each user or developer can adapt it to their needs.
Although this family of fonts comes by default included in Android if we want we can install it manually in other operating systems, such as Windows, to be able to use it in it, for example, in Word or Photoshop.
How to install Roboto on Windows
The first thing we must do to install this font is to download it from the Google fonts platform, which can be found at the following link.
On this page, what we will do is click on the button «Select this Font» to select it and we will display the lower panel to be able to download all the resources that make up this font from the download button indicated below.
Once the font is downloaded to our computer, we unzip the ZIP file and we will find different TTF files, one for each type of font we have (bold, italic, fine-line, etc).
Once unzipped, the only thing left to do is select all the fonts that we have extracted from the compressed file and, right-clicking on them, choose the "Install" option so that Windows will take care of installing them in the operating system.
Once the fonts are installed, the only thing left to do is close and reopen (in case of having them open before) the applications where we want to use this new font. For example, if we now try to change the font in Word we will be able to see that this new font appears to us so that we can choose it and start writing with it.
We must do the same to be able to use this font, for example, in Photoshop or GIMP.
